I am a huge fan of audio books with great stories and great readers. I love this dramatization of the Jane Austen novels. As they are dramatizations, they are not her writings verbatim. The recordings and characters are well done. The only thing I don't like is the packaging of the CDs. They are all on one post and my post actually arrived broken. The entertainment and listening pleasure exceeds this small inconvenience.

A great way to get the complete collection of Jane Austen's work. Even if you've read the works, this is a joy to listen to and is a great aid for those who don't like reading or who might struggle with comprehension. And again, you'll find may familiar voices and talents.

Really good actors and staging. Love it! Great stories and it's long, so lots of content to enjoy.

Any Jane Austen fan would love this collection. A single box holds all the discs for the dramatization of Austen's six novels. Because the most likely person to purchase this collection is a Janeite, I'll spare any description of the stories and focus the review on the quality instead. The dramatizations are enjoyable. For anyone who would like an entertaining, light-hearted commute, pop these discs in. They're great to fall asleep to as well. The only minor complaint I have is that the box is not particularly practical. It holds all the discs in one singular stem. So in order to pick the novel you want to listen to, you have to pull out all the discs that sit on top of it. It's not convenient to have to do that. If this doesn't bother you, then there really isn't a downside to purchasing this.

This is a fabulous resource for those who love Jane Austen's books! I have greatly enjoyed listening to these dramatizations of her books! I would HIGHLY recommend this! And the discs/box came in excellent, brand-new condition.

Love listening to my favorite stories in the car. The narrating and actors are superb.

Excepting Pride and Prejudice (which is a shame, because it's my favorite) I loved the dramatization. I think Mansfield Park was my favorite.

I like this book as much as possible, considering its about a subject that I would like to ignore.

This is a fast paced, yet very complete book full of practical ways to use all the key features of LinkedIn. Newbies can learn how to dive in, while power users an pick up on areas they can take better advantage of.

Good Read

I recently attended a seminar that Wayne was one of the speakers at. Conveniently just before that I had logged onto LinkedIn for the first time. I honestly thought when he talked about his book he was another snake oil salesman just out to make a buck. I was wrong. He told us that he designed the book to be read on a flight to Dallas. I didn't take the flight but I was able to read the book in just over two days, with three kids in the house that is an accomplishment. The short read doesn't mean the book is lacking in content at all. In fact you could liken it to making juice from concentrate; it's all in there ready for you and not watered down. Each chapter I found myself going back to my profile and updating it with something new. I can't speak to the full pay out of the book yet as I just finished it ten minutes ago, but I can speak to the potential. By following the steps and leveraging the contacts you already have this will become an invaluable tool for anyone. I look forward to the weekly updates from Wayne and I look forward to the new contacts to my network the steps in this book will add. And I know those contacts will lead to new business for me in the future. My best advice for anyone who buys this book would be to lock yourself in your office for a couple days to read the book, take notes, dog ear some pages and keep your profile up so you can update it section by section as you go.

Provides a wealth of technical information about research on orgasm, but it's not enough: There is no clear or widely accepted definition of orgasm, and where exactly in the body or brain orgasm occurs is still an unanswered question. Interestingly, the lack of understanding of orgasm results, in part, from some silly inherited preconceptions, inhibitions and continuing political interests.One of the many researchers quoted in this book makes the remarkable statement: since women don't always have orgasm during intercourse, this "...must be seen as a design flaw." That reminds me of another book I read on the technology of orgasm (see my other reviews), which suggested that the clitoris is in the "wrong place."There seems to be an active movement to promote the belief that women's widespread difficulty in achieving orgasm during conventional intercourse is an accident of nature, rather than a result of miseducation and early neglect: the lack of stimulation of the genital organs during development leads to atrophy of the relative brain areas and subsequent dysfunction of the organ, a physiological principle recognized in relation to other organs, but absolutely taboo to mention in the realm of sex, because the obvious implication is that childhood sex play is the best way to develop healthy clitoral function and thereby prevent female sexual dysfunction. This book repeats the conventional myth that sexual activity naturally "begins" at puberty.Interestingly, there is much evidence that regular or frequent orgasms correlate with health (including lower rate of heart disease and cancer).The book concludes with an unhelpful discussion of the difficulty of understanding the dimension of time, as a weak analogy for the difficulty of understanding the complex phenomenon of orgasm. An excellent book on a subject that every mature adult should read in order to keep them completely informed about their own body and how to optimize it. It may be more technical than most people would appreciate - but it is worth the effort to take the time to read and digest its contents.

I wish more books were this through in dealing with their subjects. He only touched on hacking orgasms, but I'll be thinking about the possibilities to years - I suspect.

A well-researched book based on data that comes from peer-reviewed journals. (I have a psychologist friend who wants to borrow the book when I've finished reading it.) This is not a "Cosmo" guide to sexual satisfaction. It does talk about what nerves enervate what muscles and organs, for those women who have partial success at stimulation of some body parts and no success at others. I am using this in conjunction with my physical therapist to help relax muscles and nerves tightened by emotional stress to that I can become more responsive. So far it's working! If you are having sexual responsiveness issues, this book might be part of a discussion with your physician and a physical therapist who is well educated (D.Sci) and familiar and experienced in working with with women's health issues. There is stuff for guys, but I didn't pay much attention to that.

So many people and organizations over-emphasize sex for their own agendas, while for others sex is a source of unhappiness and guilt. But the fact is that for most people a balanced sex life is an essential part of healthy living. Yet despite the deluge of information about sex, it is amazing how much ignorance still exists. Most people working in psychology will have seen people who were convinced that they had an illness because he or she had failed to have an orgasm or had sometimes been less interested in sex.This is the kind of book that will probably get thumbed through a lot at the local lending library, but it is not in any way a "how to" book. It is instead a scholarly work on what is known about orgasm. It is a book of facts and figures, a few diagrams and a lot of scientific references.I have some minor gripes: the proofing could have been better: bromocriptine is one of a number of words that is misspelled. There is only a short discussion about why female orgasm exists at all. The male orgasm seems to have a straightforward evolutionary function, making males want to have sex more often, which in turn makes them more likely to have offspring. But how to account for female orgasm, when nearly three-quarters of women don't always reach orgasm during sexual intercourse? If the female orgasm had developed because of the same evolutionary pressures, females should have adapted to be as consistently orgasmic as males. (There is an excellent discussion of this issue in the recent book by Elisabeth Lloyd from Indiana University, which is referenced in this book). At some points in this book there is not enough of a distinction made between orgasm and arousal. For instance some women report that arousal rather than orgasm is what drives them to enjoy sex. There is also an over-emphasis on biochemical theories of orgasm, and an under-emphasis on the psychological, subtle and spiritual aspects. Even the topic of consciousness and orgasm gets only a brief chapter.If you are interested in a more comprehensive view of orgasm, you may want to supplement this book with the works of David Deida, Jenny Wade, Mabel Iam and Mantak Chia.But all that being said, this is the best single book on the physiology, biochemistry and pathology of orgasm. It also highlights that there is still a great deal that is known.The book also gives quite a good summary of some of the approaches that may help people who feel that they have a problem with achieving orgasm. It is essential reading for anyone working with relationship problems. And if the only thing that comes from this book is a greater understanding that orgasm is not the only consideration in intimate relationships, that would be worthwhile in itself.This book is almost unique, and apart from the points that I have raised, I recommend it to anyone who needs a reliable account of the physical aspects of orgasm, and suggestions for helping with problems.

Unfortunately our world consists of constant “fake news.” As educators, we owe it to our youth to help them have the awareness and skill set needed to have the critical eye to ascertain accurarate information. LaGarde and Hudgins have provided us with an incredible resource to guide our youth and empower them! I was trying to do it on my own with my second graders, but now that I have their book, I feel much more effective with their comprehensive resource which has given me a plethora of tools! It’s a must have!

I was expecting a lot from this book before I read it, and it EXCEEDED my expectations. Here's why:Fact vs. Fiction does MORE than lay out a clear and compelling problem of practice; it helps readers understand the subtleties involved in “Fake News.” (I especially liked the 10 types of misleading news graphic.)The book seamlessly integrates relevant citations that support key concepts without being cumbersome. At the same time, it is chock full of high-interest examples that illuminate the neuroscience behind how people seek and respond to news as well as what educators can do about it.Key concepts are supported with personal and non-news examples making them even more accessible to the average reader (like myself). The balance between the citations and high-interest examples is masterfully struck.The interactive “Fake News Self-Assessment” was the icing on the cake and down-right fun to complete.In a world that seems like it places as much emphasis on a story’s ability to go “viral” as the actual facts that may (or may not) underpin the story itself, this book will be a cornerstone to educators like us who wish to teach critical thinking and discernment.Whether they realized it or not, LaGarde and Hudgins have written an empowering call-to-action. Simply put, we can no longer teach and/or transmit content apart from the skills to evaluate and discern said content.“Fact vs. Fiction: Teaching Critical Thinking Skills in the Age of Fake News” is like a deep well, and I plan to revisit it again and again.
