I chose 4 stars because I have used Haynes manuals before (Saab 9-3), and I knew that it would contain enough information for me to get stuff done myself, and not have to pay someone exorbitant amounts of $ to do simple/intermediate/slightly advanced things... but not 5 stars because Haynes manuals fall short of perfection. What they need are bigger/better pictures/diagrams for some things, and more succinct explanations of some tasks. The wording is sometimes confusing, but then, they are a British based company, so that's kind of expected too.Likes:Tool descriptions and pictures (however low contrast they are, they are still helpful)"crash course" in electrical theory***DIAGNOSIS STEPS*** <-this is by far the biggest reason to get this book... You can spend hours, if not DAYS hunting down shorts or other circuit issues, but their methodology saves you TONS of time and frustration.Dislikes:Paper quality is meh (my dad was a printer, so I'm a paper snob though... :) ). The reason that this is important is that since the paper quality is basically a grade above newspaper, the image quality suffers. The paper browns over time slightly, and the ink fades a little. That combined with a loose tooth on the paper makes for very low-contrast images. They are still discernible however, and most people would probably tell me I'm being too picky... :)Some descriptions are worded in ways that make procedures a little hard to follow... but a few re-reads usually does the trick.Overall: A good book that I got used at a great price. Totally worth it. If you are wanting to learn enough to start working on your car without ruining stuff inside it... This is the way to go. I recommend it.

Very comprehensive and detailed in virtually all aspects related to a partial or full rewire of your vehicle and it has a number of "be damn careful" hints when working with the positive wire, hot irons, poisonous and explosive gases, electrical tape and so on. I read it twice and it is on my bench for review as I need it. One area I would like to see expanded is detail on crimping open barrel connectors, more specific, how the jaws work to roll the crimp and what specific tool size, i.e. 24-14, would be needed for a typical rewire job.

I never tried to pull apart the wires under the hood of my car or work on anything electrical. It was a mystery to me what happened there but with the help of this great book from Haynes my truck is no longer under 'voodoo magic' fit only for the high priced wizards at the Ford shop! I would still take one of those very hard to understand problems that pop up then go away. I can't even start to understand them even the tech at my local Ford dealer ship has trouble with it, but this is a great book and helped to get me there. I know what he is taking about because I had my hand on it as well. I recommend this book.

Lots of typos remain after several additions and printings. It appears the editors didn't get much further than the cover. Some essential info, but VERY dated content. Not worth the effort for me.

Bought this for brother rebuilding a 78 Caddy and he said it was a big help

This manual was really nice. It did not try to give me a full course in basic electricity or circuit design; instead it gives the individual the basic information that they would need to understand current flow in the vehicle, along with diagrams of what a circuit layout in the vehicle should look like and how to read it as well as to trouble shoot problems.

My husband had this book before. We are reading it together for the first time.Amazing information well researched and revealing for today's world.

fun to see, interesting, some quirky artists out there. also some good pix and narrative included. delivery etc as promised

Escape into alternate worlds. I got to know artists and glimpsed worlds far away from box stores. I loved the Bloomsbury group stories and seeing how creative minds shaped their innermost sanctuaries. I wanted more, especially more about American artists. Maybe a sequel?? Overall, it was inspiring.

I was disappointed when first looking at this book as I thought it was about current artists but after spending some time with it I was rather pleased. The photos of the artists' homes and studios together with information about the artists and their friends made for an interesting book. You can always set it out on the coffee table to impress your friends!

This book provides a wonderful perspective on the artist, as one who paints,(attempts to paint)it was most enjoyable and educational to see and learn how truly gifted artists worked. It put so much in perspective.

I am an artist, so I bought this book for my coffee table. Good looking cover, as well as interesting homes pictured inside.

My mom had the original edition of this book years ago. She would use it to make name certificates for new babies at church, include it with encouraging words to friends, etc.I bought a copy when I was expecting my first baby and it is still something I go back and refer to when getting name meanings for friends. I bought a second Kindle version so I would always have it on hand. (It's also great if you are into Biblical dream interpretation, sometimes a person in your dream is a symbol for something and knowing the meaning of the name is helpful.)Each name is listed with the most prevalent spelling first followed by variations of the name. The cultural or language origin is listed as well as the literal meaning of the name.The next part is where this book stands out from the other name books. The spiritual connotation of the name is then listed along with a verse that the author felt illustrated that characteristic.For example, the name Blaine is a Gaelic name with the variations Blain, Blane, and Blayne listed. The literal meaning is Lean. The author has interpreted the spiritual connotation as "Trusting," one who trusts in God regardless of the circumstances. Isaiah 42:16 NRSV is given as a key verse."I will turn the darkness before them into light, the rough places into level ground . . . I will not forsake them."The original book had an appendix in the back with a listing of men and women's names only. I don't see this in the second edition which I have on Kindle. It does have a listing of Biblical names. In both editions, there is a page listing birthstones and flowers by month, and places to write down your favorite names.The original version of this book had predominantly European and Latin with some Native American names. Comparing my old print version with this latest edition on my Kindle, it appears to have more Asian, Middle Eastern, and African name meanings than the first. Also in this edition that wasn't in the other is an outline for a family tree where you can write down names for four generations on each of the Mother and Father's side. Which is kind of cool.The one thing that is a little difficult is when someone has a name that has a weird spelling or variation of a name. The names are listed alphabetically by the most common spelling, so you have to think which one it would be listed under.Regarding some other comments: You can't look up names by meanings. That is true, but with the Kindle version you can always do a search and find them.The names aren't separated by boy and girl names: Maybe because all three of my girls have names that were originally masculine that are now considered "gender neutral," I don't see it as that big of a deal.I bought three books on names before my first child was born. One was the mega-book of the time. This is the only one out of the three that not only do I still have, but that I still use.

Look up both your first and middle name. We shared this info with my 6.5 year old son and he LOVED knowing the info since it helped him understand himself more as it resonated really strongly within him. I like that the meanings and different ways to spell the name are there but they aren't separated by male and female so I wasted so much time having to read girl names when I just wanted to read boy names.

This is a beautiful book with just about every name you can think of and the meaning in the bible. This is the perfect book for anyone who is about to have a new one join their family. Now mind you this is a Christian related book. If you do not have the same beliefs then of course I would suggest you go a different route.

This book is excellent for the meanings of names after you find one you like, however, I did not give it 5 stars because the names are not separated into boy and girl names which means I have to have a second book. If you want a scriptural meaning for your child's name, then I would get this book, but otherwise, the other name books have the meanings and origins as well.

This was the best book of names I have ever read...it gives the origin, the meaning, the spiritual meaning and a Bible verse to go with it. If you are a Christian this is the name book for you.

This book was more than I expected! The list of names and the font used in the book makes it very legible and easy to find names. The surprise is that each name has a scripture reference. I did not see that in the description of the book and seeing as I am using it for Baptism classes it is excellent that it contains references to God's word.

Eh, this book does have 10,000 names but nothing popped out or spoke to us. I'm not sure I can really blame the book, though it may be slightly dated- i didn't see any of the newly popular 2017-18 names in there. The book is organized nicely and has the meanings amd origins of the names.
